Our Community, Our Responsibility

Believers United for Progress, a grassroots organization, grew out of the community restaurant New Visions of Africa located in the HAYTI area of Durham, North Carolina. The organization has been open to the public since July 2004. It was incorporated in North Carolina as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization on February 27, 2007.

We asked ourselves, “What can we do to bring dignity and respect back to our community?” Believers United for Progress has actively worked in the community by providing food and hot meals, outreach services and sponsoring community dinners to help families be sustained and work towards self-sufficiency. The organization provides these services for free. When G-d blessed one, who did He bless? The answer is EVERYONE!  We must tap into our spirit, bring out those blessings and spread them to all.
